In brief, we would like to tell you about the background of Lanka, why we started the brand and how the journey began, so here we go…
The whole image of the brand circulates around the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a land of staggering contrast and spectacular beauty due to its compactness of amazing wildlife and pristine heritage. After visiting the country and being inspired by the vibrant colours of the natural wonders and subtle but impressive designs of the buildings, we came up with the idea of creating a brand which incorporates both the colours and the designs.
With a keen eye for fashion, we set off looking for the luxurious materials up and down the country. With everyone at the team only settling for perfection, it was initially proving difficult to find the right manufacturer who had the same image and idea of what we were looking for.
With a hand from lady luck, a friend eventually helped us find the perfect supplier who knew exactly what we were after and the standards that we were and are aspiring to.
‘Serendipity – the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.’ A word which originated from Sri Lanka and has resonated with us throughout the 2 years of hard work which we have put in and has definitely helped us along the way. The brand image specialises in supplying the highest quality materials, the perfect fit as well as catching the culture of Sri Lanka. After scanning through numerous samples with a fine tooth comb, we now believe our products are just how we visualised the brand at the start of the journey and couldn’t be happier with our clothing.
A big part of our vision is how we can help and change the world, even if it is just one step at a time. Here at Lanka, we believe that in order to move forward you need to give back so keep an eye out for some of the exciting charity events we have planned.
